Diving
in Panama
The name,
Panama, literally means “the place of abundant fish” and the
relatively few folks who have dived in the Republic of
Panama will gladly testify that the name is well-deserved.
With over 250 species of reef and game fish, over 50
different types of coral, plus tons of turtles, sharks,
rays, and invertebrates, Panama boasts some of the best
diving in the world--dive the Pacific one-day and the
Caribbean the next. It is only a short one-hour, scenic
vehicle ride. The fact that few people know about it only
enhances the diving experience for those who do. Instead of
hordes of divers swarming on exhausted dive sites, you will
find vibrant coral reefs where schools of large fish still
react to divers more out of curiosity than fear.
