Diving in Panama
Diving with Panama Divers Caribbean – Panama Divers will take you diving on the best 100 miles of Panama’s 425 miles of Caribbean coast, from Portobello to the San Blas Islands. Portobello is only a one-hour scenic ride in our van from your Hotel. Visibility: 40 ft to unlimited. Currents: generally very mild to moderate. Temperature: Bath tub warm! Skin to 2 mm suit. Dive Sites: Drake Island, Salmedina, Three Sisters, Buffet Reef, Iron Castle, Lighthouse, Shark Reef, Coconut Reef, Isla Grande, Isla Mamey & many, many unnamed virgin reefs. All the world’s tropical fish swim these waters—very colorful & healthy reefs!

The dive sites themselves vary greatly, offering a spectacular array of different underwater topographical features including pinnacles, fringing reefs, As if that weren’t enough, you can find wrecks ranging in age all the way back to the 16th century littered about as well as a whole host of pinnacles, caverns, caves, and other gorgeous underwater topographical features. There is an abundance of virgin dive sites suitable for divers of every level and every special interest.
Pacific – Come dive the warm, clear Pacific waters surrounding islands once sailed by Pirates! These waters abound in tropical game fish, and are considered-among the best fishing grounds in the world. Sailfish, amberjack, bonito, wahoo, dolphin, corbin, red snapper, tuna and macarel, as well as marine turtle, shrimp giant oysters, clams and mussels make this a paradise for divers. Dive Sites: Taboga Island, Perlas Islands, and Coiba Island. Coiba Island diving has been described as a mixture between the Galapagos Islands and the Coco’s Islands, Costa Rica. This area is virtually virgin territory for the diver. Temperature: surface is the low 80’s with thermo clines common at depth, dropping temperature to the mid 70’s. Currents: variable, depending on the tide–12 to 20ft tidal exchange is present around the islands. Visibility – average is 70ft to unlimited! |
