Discovery Scuba is a program created for people who are not certified and would like to try scuba diving for the day. You learn some of the basic skills needed to dive as well as learning what diving is all about and whether it is for you. Your PADI instructor will spend one on one time with you to explain the basic principles of scuba diving. The instructor will help you understand the equipment you will be using, which will be provided to you. Once you feel comfortable your instructor will go over basic scuba skills in confined water. After which your instructor will take you for a “fun dive” or discovery (no more than 40ft).
Here at Panama Divers we can tailor each program to help optimize your learning. We teach you in a safe and controlled environment. Your experience is important to us.
What you will Learn:
You learn the basics you need to dive under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. One thing you’ll learn is that you really can breathe underwater and whether you like doing that or not. You will:

- Find out what it’s like to breathe underwater and learn whether you can be comfortable there
- Learn some basic skills and safety rules that will carry over to your full scuba certification course when you take the next step
The Scuba Gear You Use
All the equipment you will need is included in a Discover Scuba Diving experience. You’ll use all the basic scuba gear including a mask , snorkel and fins, a buoyancy compensating jacket that also carries your scuba tank, a weight belt, a scuba regulator to breathe from and instrumentation to monitor depth and air supply. You might also choose to wear a scuba wetsuit or shorty depending on your preferences during your Discover Scuba Diving program.
